Meanwhile, Back on the Crazy Train with Nancy Pelosi

Some folks call her a left-wing political hack; Dennis Miller calls her batsh*t crazy. Far be it from me to question the diagnosis by cousin Dennis, but I honestly can’t figure out whether the woman is clinically insane, liberally delusional, or just a liar. Whatever the case, Nancy Pelosi and reality haven’t spent much time together in quite awhile – if ever.

Need a refresher? Let’s take a quick trip through some of Ms. Nancy greatest hits:

On Obama’s “stimulus” package: “Every week we don’t pass a stimulus package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs.” (Earth to Nancy: The total population of the United States consists of 312 million people.)

On energy: “I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels. It’s cheap, abundant and clean compared to fossil fuels.” (Fossil Fuels for Dummies: There are three major categories of fossil fuel: coal, oil, and natural gas.)

On stock market profits and illegal aliens“We have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help – along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as ‘Americans.'” (Um, illegal aliens are not “Americans,” Nancy; never have been, never will be.)

On Bush tax cuts: “First, Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class.” (HUH? You apparently flunked “connect the dots” in kindergarten, right? )

On GOP opposition to Obama – while speaking in a black church, no less“Why would all the times – I myself, have been in Congress 24 years and I have voted over and over and over to lift the debt ceiling…so why THIS president – of all presidents -TO BE PUT TO THAT CROSS?” (See my article, Ding Dong the Witch is Nuts)

On the last Republican budget proposal“What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.” (I got nothin’.)

On the then-pending ObamaCare bill: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” (Aside from the obvious idiocy of this statement, whatever happened to Obama’s “Sunlight Before Signing” promise?)

Okeedokee, now that we’re on the same page – let’s get to the point of the post:

During a discussion last week on the union controversy at Boeing’s South Carolina plant, CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo asked Pelosi: “For starters, do you think it‘s right that Boeing has to close down that plant in South Carolina because it’s non-union?”

Pelosi’s response? “Yes.”

Ms. Nancy quickly added: “I don’t know if they could close it down, I would hope that they would make it union.”

When pressed by Bartiromo, the ex-Speaker got a bit defensive: “You asked me what I thought, and I told you what I thought.” Yes you did, Nancy, yes you did. “Telling us what you think” is exactly why so many people think you’re a certifiable loon.

Let’s see if we have this straight:

Nancy Pelosi believes that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) should have the power to shut down private-sector businesses – simply because they refuse to unionize. She believes that the federal government should be able to stop Americans from working – if their employers refuse to unionize. Madame ex-Speaker believes that American workers do not have a “right” to employment – as the dopey Occupy Wall Street protesters claim they do – unless they are unionized.

Despite the fact that wingnut positions on Planet Pelosi are well-documented, perhaps we should give her a mulligan here – I mean, hell – her president is not only beholden to Richard Trumka, James Hoffa and SEIU, he also believes in the selective enforcement of federal law. (Defense of Marriage Act, existing federal immigration law)

What’s wrong with a little strong-arming for the unions anyway – especially if it’s politically motivated? Vladimir Lenin would be proud.

Did the Marxists force unionization of the proletariat? Will have to look into that.
