Some of you may have seen this idiotic leftist screed email that’s floating around entitled “Now You Get Mad?”
I really don’t know who it’s meant for… I just know it’s so full of crap that I had to reply when a friend of mine sent it to me (who, of course, moved out of the U.S.A. years ago and is living on Social Security checks now mailed to his home in Panama!)
I post my response here in the hope that it might help some other people fight off this creeping sickness in our land. My point-by-point refutations are resplendent with factual links, so click away!
AFTER THE EIGHT-YEAR BUSH/CHENEY DISASTER, NOW YOU GET MAD?… You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
What Total BS… the US Supreme Court stopped an ILLEGAL recount of only a FEW select, liberal-heavy counties in Florida, orchestrated by a Democratic state supreme court. In other words, the US Supremes stopped a straight-out election stealing operation mounted by the Democrats.
You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate Energy policy and push us to invade Iraq .
Any proof of this? No… didn’t think so.
You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
Yes, but not by Bush or Cheney or the guy who went to jail for it. (It was Colin Powell’s #2 man. Here’s his confession.) Besides, Valerie Plame was a FORMER operative, not covered by any in-place secrecy clause about her former role. (REAL informants and operatives are regularly outed by WikiLeaks and The New York Times, but you don’t complain about THAT, do you?)
You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
And we should get mad exactly WHY? Details, please.
You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
Not true. Iraq was meeting with Al Qaeda leaders, harboring known terror fugitives, AND – as proven just last week by WikiLeaks – actually DID possess WMDs (poison gas) in violation of multiple U.N. orders.
You didn’t get mad when we spent over 800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.
Illegal? Congress overwhelmingly approved using force against Iraq. What made it illegal, then? And since when are liberals such cost-conscious penny pinchers? Name one time they’re reduced a national budget.
You didn’t get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.
Presidents don’t go to the drive-through and “borrow” money. The Fed sells T-bills, etc. The rising budget during the Bush years should, indeed, peeve all Americans. But at least most of it was spent on a war, killing those who want to kill us. But no liberals (and few conservatives) ever complained while the spigot was open – in fact, every budget vote in Congress wanted to spend MORE than Bush proposed. AND OF COURSE, let’s not forget that compared to Obama, Bush was a piker! Obama’s deficit spending (read: foreign-source borrowing) is planned to be two to FOUR TIMES Bush’s.
You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq.
Ummm… can you say “Missing Obama Stimulus Money?”
You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
Waterboarding is not torture. There is no physical pain or damage being inflicted. It’s all mental. Criticizers should watch it being done, and finally know what they’re talking about.
You didn’t get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country
Actually, Bush’s policies had a net effect of creating 1.1 million more jobs than were lost in America. We live in a global society now. Jobs come and go – that’s how it’s going to work from now on. And hey, DON – you don’t live in the USA anymore, anyway. What do you care? (Some of those jobs probably went to Costa Rica and Panama – directly helping Americans like you, who have decided to leave the country.)
You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
If you mean wiretapping calls in and out of the USA from suspected terrorists… gee, too bad the “Americans” happened to be on the other end of the call, huh?
You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden. You didn’t get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.
We neutered Bin Laden and his group. Who cares if we get him? (We probably did, and aren’t saying.) And… I’ve already addresses the Bush deficits, which are CHUMP CHANGE compared to Obama and the Democrat Congress’ numbers.
You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
Many of which were overblown in press reports. And besides, who’s to blame for that? Just the president? The Walter Reed problem surfaced in Feb. 2007… at least a year after Dems got control of Congress. Doesn’t Congress have a committee or two that oversees the military? And when was the last time Democrats suggested INCREASING the budget for the military? (Answer: NEVER)
You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans , drown.
Really? We let New Orleans DROWN? Right. (Perhaps we should have – when was the last time you visited that cesspool of a city?) Compare the attention New Orleans got with last year’s “invisible flood” in NASHVILLE, which nobody heard about.
You didn’t get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.
EVERYONE in the U.S. got tax breaks under Bush – as was proper. Besides, the idea that tax breaks are “giving” anything to anyone is ridiculous. It’s not “giving”… it’s letting people KEEP more of the money THEY EARNED.
You didn’t get mad with the worst 8 years of job creations in several decades.
Not true… again, look at the job numbers. So far, Obama holds the “worst” title.
You didn’t get mad when over 200,000 US Citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance.
Where did this BS number come from? Prove it – I dare you. (By the way, more than TWO MILLION Americans die each year from various causes, 40% of those are SUDDEN deaths – no hospital would have saved them.)
You didn’t get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values.
Ummm… try “lack of oversight by Congress,” not by Bush. In fact, Bush TRIED to reign in the mortgage crises SEVENTEEN TIMES, but Congress ignored him. The fact is that Democrats and their policies created the meltdown. congressional banking and finance committee chairmen Barney “Sylvester” Frank and Chris “Crook” Dodd are on record as saying – right on the cusp of the meltdown – that “everything is OK.” The entire list of villians is here and most of them are Democrats and Liberals.
You finally got mad when a black man was elected President and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay with you, but helping fellow Americans who are sick…Oh, Hell No!!
Oh yes, you caught me… I’m against Obama because he is “black”… that’s it. By the way, if he’s 50% white, and 50% black – and was raised by white grandparents as far away from ghetto life as you can get (Hawaii) AND attended the best schools, including Harvard… how is he “black,” exactly?
And how does it – combined with the fact that Obama is a lying, class-warfare, socialist wealth redistributor – make me a “racist?”
Sorry… the REAL RACISTS are 1) anyone who voted FOR him BECAUSE he is “black,” and 2) who can’t consider any criticism of him or his policies objectively because, obviously those who criticize him hate minorities!
