Harry Reid in a Skirt

[mc_name name=’Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000355′ ] and his leadership team put a big, fat knife in the back of gun owners in connection with the confirmation of anti-gun loon Loretta Lynch to be Attorney General.

As you may know, over 40 senators had announced their intention to vote against Lynch’s nomination. As you may also know, pro-gun senators were filibustering Lynch. And conservatives were prepared to invoke a parliamentary maneuver which would have killed her nomination because she didn’t have the 60 votes necessary to shut off a filibuster under Rule XXII of the Senate rules.

But the sleazy McConnell hatched a plan to insure Lynch would be confirmed with no difficulty: First, McConnell brought up her nomination — even though he, alone, could have stopped Lynch’s confirmation by refusing to move to proceed to her. Then, McConnell filed a cloture petition to shut down the pro-gun filibuster.

Finally, McConnell and 14 of his “leadership” buddies flipped their votes and voted to shut down the pro-gun filibuster — in a move called “cloture.” Many of the fifteen senators had openly committed to gun owners that they would oppose Lynch. And 10 of them did oppose her on the 56-43 final passage vote — when their votes didn’t matter.

But, on the vote where we could have won with only 41 votes, McConnell and his friends flipped their votes and voted for Lynch.

Hence, the Senate has put its stamp of approval on a person who is expected to try to implement the semi-auto ban, which she supports, by executive fiat. It’s okay with the Senate that Lynch stated, under oath, that she has no problem implementing Obama’s unlawful, politically motivated orders — even though a federal court has found them unconstitutional. And the Senate approves of the fact that Lynch,in confirmation hearings, feigned ignorance on universal background checks and Operation Choke Point’s anti-gun ramifications — even though she was under oath.

Of course, Obama apologists rant about how “qualified” the morally challenged Lynch supposedly is. But think about it: What if she had refused to enforce the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Would Obama have simply chalked that up to a “difference on policy”?

Why, then, should an anti-gun bigot who spits on the Constitution’s Second Amendment be treated as somehow acceptable?

And the fact is that this most recent defeat doesn’t interrupt McConnell’s unbroken string of losses and humiliations at the hands of Obama — defeats ranging from the amnesty-funding Cromnibus — to a $100+ billion “doc fix” which was the specific quid-pro-quo demanded by the American Medical Association in exchange for passing ObamaCare — to the string of go-nowhere veto-bait bills — to Congress’ lump-on-a-log response to transformational illegal Obama actions to reward Cuba and regulate the

Internet — to the Iran “fix” which graciously allows Congress to pass a veto-proof bill if there’s something about Obama’s “deal” it doesn’t like — to what Reid correctly characterizes as a capitulation on the Hyde

It is almost impossible to think of anything which would be

different if Democrats were still in control of the Senate.

Is it any wonder that McConnell has now been dubbed “[mc_name name=’Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000146′ ] in a skirt”?

So guess what, Senate GOP leadership? Obama and MSNBC are doing another victory lap on your face. You are getting NO credit for selling out. Your base hates you. And, when a Republican nominee emerges, Hillary will do a “slime campaign” to destroy him.

And sitting there, waiting for her shot at the Supreme Court, will be Loretta Lynch. And, when she transforms history according to Obama’s vision, she will owe [mc_name name=’Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000355′ ] a thank you note. Although I doubt if you can expect one.
