The pre-Revolutionary mantra that so many rallied around in the 1760’s and summarized the primary grievance of the British colonists in the Thirteen Colonies. After several failed attempts in Parliament to acknowledge or shore up the rights of British citizens in the colony’s the Parliament shows how completely out of touch they are by bringing into law the Stamp act, which resulted in the Boston Tea Party, and was pretty much the final straw with the colonists.
Taxation without Representation is Tyranny! Sure sounds like a replay of a history not learned from, at the very least a history not properly taught any more in our classrooms. It also seems thatAmerican Citizens today are feeling just about the same as they did back in the 1760’s. Only 17% feel that the Government acts with the consent of the people. That means 83% feel they are lacking in the representation aspect of government.
Remember that other old school mantra, Those who don’t learn from past mistakes are destined to repeat them. Seems the Democrats have no love of history and Obama is fine with his part playing King George.
