Emotion vs Reason

In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, Conn. many states have suggested different gun measures. Vermont which has long been the most gun friendly state in the Union will probably begin passing legislation similar to neighboring New York unless the Liberals who have been allowed to dominate state politics for so long are held accountable by their constituents.

Colorado has passed anti-gun legislation that quite possibly violates Federal Law, and New York passed a law that is unenforcable and unconstitutional even Governor Cuomo tacitly recognizes this though not explicitly stating so.

Indiana is one of the few states that is considering something far more rational. A bill currently being discussed in the General Assembly ( which has a Republican Supermajority in both Chambers) would require that every public and charter school have atleast one officer who is armed, it also allows teachers their right to self defense, of course Glenda Ritz, the Democrat Superintendent of Public Instruction and typical Union stooge/ obstructionist, thinks that this decision should be made by the local school districts yada yada you get the point. So far Indiana (my home) is the only state out of 49 to suggest this kind of legislation though South Dakota and maybe a few others have passed legislation that allows teachers to arm themselves, I fully expect some sort of court challenge if this becomes law, just like the Unions challenged the voucher program and were defeated by a 5-0 decision by the Indiana Supreme Court.

Here is the link to Foxnews which is where I heard of this bill http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/04/indiana-advances-first-in-nation-bill-to-require-arming-school-officials/#comments
