Tennessee Tea Party Coalition - Rep. Steve King Keynote Speaker

On March 20th and 21st Rep. Steve King from Iowa was especially helpful during the protest at the U.S. Capitol Building. He was our “Man on the Inside”. He instigated an “Instant” TEA Party of his own on the East steps of the Capitol on the evening of the 20th. Thousands gathered in front of the steps as King and several other representatives relayed information as to what was going on inside. The doors at the top of the steps were held open allowing the objections of “We The People” to be heard inside. His “sound system” was his cupped hands until someone passed one of the bullhorns up to him. The crowd stayed into the darkness long after the deliberations ended.

Representative King was right back at it the next morning. He stayed in close and regular contact with the protestors, coming down to speak with the exhausted hold-outs after the final vote.

The Tennessee Tea Party Coalition announced that Congressman Steve King will be the Keynote Speaker at the Inaugural state-wide Tea Party Convention in Tennessee, which will be held 22 – 23 May 2010. This grassroots event will take place at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, located in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Additional speakers include LT Governor Ron Ramsey, Rep. Phil Roe…( and many more).

Truly a grassroots event, the Convention tickets are very reasonably priced at $30.00 in advance, $35.00 at the door for the entire weekend. 21 and under will be admitted for free.

The Convention will include Educational Speakers, Seminars, and Discussion Panels on the issues confronting all Americans as we head into the 2010 elections. There will also be a Gubernatorial Debate, a Tax Reform Debate, and opportunities to Meet & Greet local, state and federal Candidates.

The Tennessee Tea Party Coalition was formed on 23 January 2010. Delegates representing 34 Tea Party groups from throughout Tennessee came together and formed our Coalition at a Caucus and ratified our Founding Documents. We believe in and support our Nation’s Founding Principles of individual freedom, limited government, free enterprise, the free market economy, and state and national sovereignty.”
