Someone needs to tell Maureen Dowd her 15 minutes of fame has long since passed and that people don’t even slightly snort or chuckle when reading her hit pieces any more.
Trying desperately to assuage her own “white guilt” by projecting racism on others is not only stupid, but furthers the divide everyone.
In her piece at the NY Times, she uses the following to describe the outburst by Joe Wilson at the joint session of Congress:
middle-aged white guys = racist
You lie, boy! = fabrication
milquetoast Republican backbencher =
like Dowd is a has-been?
lectured and even rebuked by the brainy [radical is not = to brainy]
socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids [see the old saying “walks like a duck, quacks like a duck ..”]
vast right-wing conspiracy against Bill Clinton = so over the top…hey, did Hillary write this piece?
a black man whose legitimacy is constantly challenged by a loco fringe
[marginalizing the conservative base will not make them disappear]
Thanks, Maureen, for making ever sharper the image of people we have to watch and battle against; your round-file op-ed piece has painted the entire south with a brush of bigotry and racism….too bad it isn’t true.
Too bad you can’t seem to “get it.” 2010 will show you just how wrong you are. 2010 will show those asinine clowns in the Congress that we will no longer take their crap and that the American people are the boss. 2010 will be the end of business as usual at the Capitol.
