Sarah Palin is a Fox

News Commentator.

According to the NYT today,

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin would appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multiyear deal.

Personally, I’m pleased and I wish her the best. I also think she’ll be a real hit. Apparently she will not have her own show – ala Huck – but will do some special types of things.

So she’s got a “multiyear deal” and the financials were not disclosed. I’m guessing it’s a bunch. This will be very interesting. I wonder if she’ll use the platform to get face time and make big bucks (Katie look out) or if she’s going to try to turn the platform into a trampoline to run for office. I’m guessing we’ll get a better idea when her programming hits. If, as the NYT suggests, it’s occasional series she really could go either way. The story also indicates it’s nowhere near a “full time job” leaving her time for “other pursuits”, whatever that might be.

So, she’s got some sort of a platform now. It’ll be interesting to see what she does with it. Whatever she does, I’m pretty sure it will be more insightful and more entertaining than Huckabee.
