Preview of the Sunday Morning Talk Shows

ImageFor Sunday, September 7, 2008

They’re back! John McCain and Joe Biden are returning to the Sunday shows where they once reigned as whatever you call people who are always on particular TV shows but are not, per se, cast members.

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace has Obama’s campaign guide David Axelrod and McCain’s campaign manager Steve Schmidt.

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos talks to Barry.

Meet the Press (NBC): Moderator Tom Brokaw talk to Joe Biden.

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer talks to McCain.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer talks to Jon Kyle, Tim Kaine, Babs Boxer, KBH, etc., and his usual cast of thousands.

Sarah Palin is conspicuous in her absence. They might be holding her back until most of the media silliness has subsided.

It would have been nice to see Steve Schmidt square off against Axelrod, but Schmidt evidently doesn’t like television.

Steph gets Barry, of course, as a gold star from Axelrod for accusing Sarah Palin in her Thursday speech of being “too ugly” and “too divisive.”

So the campaign begins in earnest.

I’ll cover these shows, of course, tomorrow.
