Today I read that a tiny college now has banned our “Star Spangled Banner,” at all sporting events; the President of the Goshen College (Jim Brenneman) took it upon himself to take our God given rights away.
Last year, he refused to let anyone sing the words to our beautiful National Anthem and this year he kicked out music along with the words.
Enough of that, after reading what Brenneman has done, I started thinking about Patriotism, freedom, liberties, the Constitution and most of all our 14 million that are unemployed.
I remember Howard Schultz asking businesses to stop any further campaign donations until Congress established a permanent plan that would reduce our National Deficit along with making necessary adjustments to entitlements and revenue.
Another thought came to mind when Steve Wynn mentioned Obama’s redistribution plans and what a wet blanket our Government is at this time. So here’s the deal fellow Americans; why don’t we take a portion of our campaign donations and put that money back into our Country?
We could be the oil on the economic wheels that gets our economy rolling again. I thought we could be a movement called “Consumer Patriotism.”
First of all let’s be “All American” and give American businesses a hand up. It is estimated that if we each spent $64 annually buying American made products it would create over 200,000 jobs.
I know what some will say: (1) 200,000 is just a drop in the bucket when we have 14 million without jobs however it’s a grand start, (2) others will say American made products cost more and you’re right, some do. That 200,000 is like a pyramid and if they would pledge $64, you can see how we could soon be on the way to a robust economy.
Think how your 64 dollars would help our Nation get back on its feet and it isn’t going to some politician who’s promising the shirt off of his back. Here’s a list of some pretty great American made products: http://www.americansworking.com/
You’ll find 100’s of American Companies who make baby products, bath and body products, tires, electronics and so much more.
Actually if we charged China a 25% tax like Donald Trump suggested – American businesses would be much more competitive and those businesses who’ve planted their feet on foreign soil would be financially incentivized to bring their business back home.
So it’s something worth considering, Americans could play the Obama game of redistribution – the only difference is this, our money would generate jobs, which in turn brings more money back into our Government for paying down our National deficit.
