Rapping About Life—Without the Gang Culture

Young Cons co-founder Josh Riddle brought this video to my attention with his blog post on Ricochet:

I always love seeing a rap song that takes a stance on political issues.  This one is more apolitical though and lyrically challenges the morality and logic of abortion.  This rapper has more talent than any mainstream garbage you’ll find, but chose to abandon the money and fame for a road less traveled.

This artist is from a ministry called ChristCentric who have been doing big things in Holy Hip-Hop for several years now:

ChristCentric is a collection of ministers, gifted in the art of hip-hop, and called by God to passionately preach, teach, and defend the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  ChristCentric is distinct in that they purpose not to entertain but to minister and this primarily to professing believers within the hip-hop culture.

Although rap is not the most euphonious medium out there, it is heartwarming to see a pro-life message communicated there. Fear not, there is no cursing or violence. It’s very well done. Watch the video here:
