The anti-Israel media dances like a barefoot kid in a yard full of dog poop to avoid calling Palestinian terrorists what they are. CNN’s first ticker breaking the story about the despicable terror attack on a Jerusalem synagogue read
4 Israelis, 2 Palestinians dead in Jerusalem
They failed to note that the 2 dead Palestinians were the attackers themselves, who used axes and knives to slaughter Jewish worshippers while shouting “God is great!” in Arabic.
CNN later apologized for what they called a “mistake”. Whoever prepared the graphic for their story also made a “mistake”, describing the attack on a Jerusalem mosque.
CNN isn’t the only media with this kind of “Palestinian terrorist” avoidance syndrome. HonestReporting.com identified at least 3 other news outlets publishing vague or misleading headlines, or using words that backed off from calling this what it is: a terrorist attack. Even Reuters called it a “suspected Palestinian attack” as if the carnage were not there for all to see.
President Obama acknowledged that there was a terrorist attack, but failed to acknowledge that the perpetrators were Palestinian, instead choosing, as always, to call for both sides to achieve peace.
“At this sensitive moment in Jerusalem,” the president said, “it is all the more important for Israeli and Palestinian leaders and ordinary citizens to work cooperatively together to lower tensions, reject violence, and seek a path forward towards peace.”
After releasing the written statement to the press, Obama also spoke on the attack, saying, “obviously, we condemn in the strongest terms.”
“This is a tragedy for both nations, Israel and the United States,” Obama said “Too many Israelis have died. Too many Palestinians have died.”
We would all do better to stop pretending. Palestinian terrorists want all Israeli Jews dead, plain and simple. Members of the news media, and American leaders who refuse to recognize this are taking the side of the terrorists.
