Daesh's Gift to Jews on Yom Kippur: A Beheading

The killing of Agag, King of Amalek

Daesh* has a gift for Jews this year.  I thought it was coincidence, but maybe not.  On September 24, they beheaded Hervé Gourdel, a Frenchman, in Algeria.  Today, they released video of Alan Henning’s beheading.  Henning is a Brit.

What do these have in common?  The videos were released on the eve of Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur, respectively.  Rosh Hashannah is the Jewish New Year, and ten days later comes Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.  These are commonly referred to by Jews as the “high holidays”.  On Yom Kippur, Jews observe a 24-hour fast—no food, no water, nothing.

There have been other beheading videos, but it seems timely that Daesh, whose hatred of Jews may only be exceeded by their hatred of America, would choose these specific days.

While Jews around the world are fasting, please pray for Israel’s safety, and pray for Daesh’s complete, utter, and total destruction.

1 Samuel 15:3

Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.

*I no longer refer to ISIS, I call them Daesh, mostly because they hate the name, but also to deny them the claim of being a “State” in any fashion.
