Yesterday was a monumental day for Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox in his bid for governor, winning two key endorsements from the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and West Michigan’s power couple Dick and Betsy DeVos.
The former Republican candidate for governor, Dick DeVos, and his wife Betsy, former Michigan Republican Party chair, “are enthused to support Mike Cox for Governor.” They see that Cox has the proven leadership and drive to turn Michigan around.
“Mike Cox has demonstrated, consistently, the toughness required of a CEO leading a troubled organization through a turnaround,” said Dick DeVos. “Michigan needs Mike. Our job makers, our schools, our communities and our families need a can-do leader like Mike Cox.”
If winning the support of the DeVoses wasn’t enough, Attorney General Cox also received an endorsement from the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. These two epic endorsements are indicators that Cox has become THE business and conservative candidate who WILL put Michigan back to work.
“Michigan’s next governor must be bold, decisive, knowledgeable about state government, and have the ability to hit the ground running from day one; Mike Cox is the candidate who best meets these four criteria,” Michigan Chamber President and CEO Rich Studley said.
Grassroots are really coming together and backing Cox. As a former Marine, homicide prosecutor and the current Attorney General, they recognize he is a fighter. Between his plans to cut government spending and to slash taxes, Cox is a breath of fresh air for Michigan and is exactly what the state needs.
As Michigan’s Attorney General, Cox has proved he is tough enough to lead Michigan. Whether it is fighting Obamacare or Asian carp, Cox stands up for what is right.
