'History Shows Passions Fade'

Politico is running a story that seems to be a taunt to the Right…or reassurance to the Dems.

At first blush, the spasms of anger over the health care law signed into law by President Barack Obama this week seem strong enough to fuel a years-long argument over government power.

Or not.

History suggests there is a better chance the passions over the country’s new health care regime will cool with an alacrity that seems unthinkable amid the clenched fists and snarling insults of the recent debate.

That’s the gist but you can read the rest if you’d like.

Now, there are two ways to look at this piece.

  1. It could be a just a taunt to the Right, as in: ‘You ain’t got the stomach for a long fight….you’ll go back to watching your NASCAR races soon and we’ll have our way with you.’ OR…
  2. Politico could be writing the piece to send a reassuring message to Dems who are a bit freaked that they’re still caught in the middle of the opium-enriched journey to Oz and wishing like h**l they never got caught up in that tornado called ObamaCare.

Either way, it doesn’t really matter.

November’s only seven months away.
