Most of Us Have Loved You All Along

“Too long we’ve been at the bottom of the totem pole, but he has vindicated us, hallelujah,” she cried. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t have nothing to put my head down for, praise God. Because when I look toward Washington, D.C., we got a new family coming in. We got a new family coming in. And you know what? They look like us. Amen, amen. They look like us.” This seemingly racist tone was heard throughout the black churches of America this past Sunday.Well guess what based on your parameters they do not look like me. Thank God and hallelujah my parameters are not yours. Who have become the racists if the above quote is the mantra and not the celebration of the great event? No, I did not vote for BHO because, as many of you so obviously failed to realize in your vote for him (notice the small h in him), this was a political election. Now that is something you will never understand at least until and if the “God Damn America” attitude/belief of our new Camelot begins. Or if only the facts of political exclusions include part of the 95% who pulled the Obama lever.Unfortunately with the hatred that Michele O. expressed in days not so long gone by it may, without fervent prayer, do just that. Having lived through Camelot as a young man becoming aware I must say, to this point Michele, you are looking very much like Jackie Kennedy! You can continue only if the feelings one garners from your Princeton thesis in the past stays in the past. Please, please prove the naysayers wrong on your love for our country. Now for the big surprise! They do look like me! Human beings with the common goal of bringing our nation together. So please get over it or we will never get past the milestone! Yes, he’s a black president-elect! Hooray for a the evidence of our progress! If this is what it takes for you to see my love and respect for you then truly hallelujah. Now guess what. He in the end will be a president who can only please a small amount of the people. Prepare to be part of the disappointed a big part of the time. What will you sound like on those Sundays? Clarence Thomas could tell you. Or, with some hope and some change, maybe you will be able to know we have loved you all along. Maybe the progress you so strongly desire will be heard in your voice when you say, “God bless America and all of our people.”
