I realize the allegations made against Meg Whitman by her former maid are not burning up the conservative blogosphere like Red State. I know Whitman is not a conservative and for the life of me I don’t understand why anyone would want to be Governor of California. But these charges by repellent media whore Gloria Allred stink to high heaven and need some comment.
Why is it that all of Allred’s clients end up in tears in front of the camera? What ever happened to the “mistress” that was represented by Allred before Schwarzenegger’s election? What sleaze.
Where is the document they allege to have in their possession? It surely cannot hurt any prospective case to make it public, after all. A sob story has been concocted that Whitman refused to provide legal help to help the maid’s immigration status. Had Whitman kept her employed, she would have knowingly provided employment to an illegal resident. Would Allred have seriously counseled Whitman to violate immigration law if she were representing Whitman in the matter? Compassion has limits when a term in the slammer is in play.
Then there’s the real smoking gun. Allred is a contributor to Jerry Brown’s campaign. Will Brown give the money back to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest?
Many people feel this doesn’t pass the smell test. Whitman has the documentation to back up her claim. This maid was fired in 2009 and decided to bring suit 4 1/2 weeks before the election? Spare me. This is politics of the worst order.
Fellow conservatives take note: Just because it’s Meg Whitman, a “moderate” Republican doesn’t mean we can afford to sit on the sidelines. If they can do it to her, they can do it to any of our favorite conservative sons and daughters. Just because Whitman is not one of us does not mean we should let sleaze go unanswered or ignored. Liberals don’t distinguish between Republicans and conservatives. What they do to her is a sign of things to come.
