The state government can also play a role in redistribution, the allocation of wages and jobs. As Barack Obama noted, when someone gets paid $10 million to eliminate 4,000 jobs, the voters in his district know this is an issue of power not economics. The government can use as tools labor law reform, public works and contracts.
Obama won the socialist endorsement in this election after he got his opponents kicked off the ballot by challenging the signatures of poor and uneducated black voters–the people whose interests he supposedly had at heart.
That’s a sign of the authenticity of his socialist convictions. Only a true socialist would dare to trample the poor so brazenly, confident that his ideological purity would excuse everything.
The ends justify the means. A familiar hypocrisy.
By the way, Obama is now trying to claim he thinks socialism is “crazy.” I guess that means he was happy to seek and receive the endorsement of crazy people!
