White House Press Briefings: Politicized Information Gate Keeping

The White House is a unit of government isolated from scrutiny.

The President’s residence, as the seat of American executive power, exerts tremendous control over their media exposure. With no press call line readily listed, journalists must congregate in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House when the press secretary decides to give journalists the time of day.
