“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” – JFK
John F. Kennedy – sometimes referred to as the “poster boy” of the Democratic Party. Well, before the party took a turn for the worst.
JFK was young, energetic, and handsome. He encouraged and inspired Americans to participate in public service, to give back to the country. He established the Peace Corps, and he put us on the path to landing man on the moon. Using JFK as the “poster boy” of the Democratic Party makes the party sound pretty good, right? That’s because, for the most part, it was. But that was in the early 60’s when people still enjoyed working hard to put food on the table.
So why did almost the entire Democratic Party move so far into socialism? And why are some conservatives supporting such a political system?
“What my campaign is about is a political revolution – millions of people standing up and saying, enough is enough. Our government belongs to all of us, and not just the hand full of billionaires.”
Bernie Sanders is connecting with a very special type of person. That person believes that billionaires should give away more of their money so that they can reap all of the benefits. $15 an hour for standing at a cash register sounds quite nice, doesn’t it? Free college tuition, paid by taxpayers, sounds very pleasant, right? For welfare professionals and the coddled college student, it sure does.
The Democratic Party, today, is not encouraging Americans to serve their communities and country. Instead they are inspiring Americans to let the communities and country serve them.
“If the federal government were to invest $18 billion a year, with a dollar-for-dollar match from state governments, we would slash college tuition in the United States by more than half. If we were to reduce the president’s proposed increase in military spending by less than half, and instead invest that money in educational opportunities for today’s college students, we could cut tuition by 55 percent. So I challenge all of you; ask yourselves, where should our priorities lie?”
Yes, Bernie, let’s take away from our military, the ones who protect this great nation, and give free things away. Good idea, BS.
BS also compares his “great ideas” to Denmark and Switzerland. However, if you do some in depth research, you’ll find that those socialist Utopias aren’t so great after all.
In Denmark, you wake up and do the same thing every day. Working to give to others. Nearly 450,000 Denmark citizens are given public assistance. That’s because it’s extremely expensive to live in Denmark – the place most refer to as the “socialist hellhole.” We’ve seen what happens to socialist countries over time. Look at Greece, for example.
The Democratic Party has become the party of the dependence on the government – that’s the truth of the matter. If you tell someone they’ll be awarded free stuff for doing nothing, they’ll be your right-hand man. Even if they are conservative.
All of the Democratic presidential hopefuls (Jim Webb – not too much.), and most Democrats throughout the country strongly hold these socialist beliefs. However, if the vast majority of the nation DID NOT want and refused handouts, would the Democratic party still be so far into socialism?
