The business of our nation goes forward. These United States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. We suffer one of the worst economic downturns in our national history caused by years of my own parties policies that I helped craft. In this present crisis, government is the solution to our problem.
We now believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Since no one among us is capable of governing himself, government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek will not be equitable, a few groups will be singled out to pay a higher price….
