Mirandize all conservative candidates!

Given that we have lost Hollywood, the media, and the academic establishment to the Left (and it’s been that way for years), we need to recognize that anytime a conservative is in public, he’s in “hostile territory.” Therefore, we should adopt a simple rule for our candidates: Read them the Miranda Warning when they announce for office. For those that don’t remember it:

“You have the right to remain silent;
anything you say can be used against you;
you have the right to have an attorney present before and during the questioning;
if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for you.”

I think we can leave out the part about appointing an attorney for them, half of all political candidates (if not more) are attorneys themselves. The important part is to remember, you have the right to SHUT UP during questioning. “No comment” is a perfectly acceptable answer. If Todd Akin had remembered that, he’d be a senator today.

By the way, speaking of Todd Akin, if you’re a nineteenth-century knuckledragger, do us all a favor and don’t run. Better yet, run as a Democrat. The days of Bible-beating and “Jee-zuz says…” are gone, OK? The culture wars are over and we lost. We lost badly. I don’t like it either, but that’s the way it is. Fighting losing battles over and over and over again isn’t going to do anyone any good, least of all the conservative movement. All you’re doing is handing our enemies rocks to throw at us. (End of rant.)
