Accusations of sexism were leveled toward anti-Hillary Clinton voters within an hour of Clinton announcing she will seek the presidency in 2016. But those are desperate charges. Think – Sarah Palin!
The charge that those who oppose Clinton do so thinking, “I Won’t Vote For Hillary Just Because She’s Running and Female,” are simply ridiculous. Of course, it is never too early to begin painting a false, desperate narrative so as to not deal with actual substance of why people oppose her. A similar approach worked, to some extent, with President Obama concerning race. In the political world of sound bites, those who opposed President Obama were charged as operating through the lens of racism.
Granted, there will be a tiny minority people who opposed Clinton because she is a woman. But those folks are the exception, not the rule. The majority of serious voters will oppose Clinton on the issues though some may think her too old or simply that she is Bill’s wife are enough to disapprove. (Note. some people thought [mc_name name=’Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000303′ ] was too old to run.)
Clinton’s largest opposition will come from Republicans who are so sexist against women that five years ago they nominated Sarah Palin as their vice-presidential candidate. Yes, this is the same party who hates women so much they elected over 50 of women to office in 2014.——————–
