Polls and Independants

This is more of an invitation than a statement, so input would certainly be appreciated. Zogby is showing a growing lead by Obama among independants, while McCain’s lead among military families and Catholics are basically non-existant.

Now I know of the arguements of independants not really being independants when it comes to these polls. But the other indicators in his poll just seem really, REALLY wrong to me. If this were a moderate, or even somewhat moderate democrat I might buy into this. I may even believe it if it were Hillary. But I’ve always seen Zogby as one of the better polls, and something doesn’t seem at all right here.

One idea is that the dynamics of this race doesn’t lend itself to traditional polling methods. This would on the surface explain things.

I’m sorry if this topic has been previously covered, but any input would be appreciated.
