Major victory!! It is needless to say that I am pleased with this outcome; however, nowhere, NOWHERE, have I heard or read where the bailout failed because it is unconstitutional! Surely, I am not the only one that has noticed this? Are there any senators that voted against the bill due to the fact that it’s a socialist measure?? If so, I haven’t heard any of them say so. I keep telling myself that in order to get anything done in Washington you have to play the game of politics. Perhaps in doing so, those that opposed the bill had to make arguments that did not fall upon the deaf ears of the Democratics.
If it sounds as if I am unappreciative let me attest that I am not, and I commend the senators that voted against this bill. I execrate that we live in a day wherein a bill such as this is even considered where it should have failed due to its own bad merit of being un-American. Instead this bill failed due to Republicans not getting the accountability for the automakers that they wanted.
Again, this is a great victory, but I’m sure we haven’t heard that last of this bill. We have to keep calling our senators and congressmen and urge them to stand against the later incarnations of this bailout, and any others of a similar nature that is sure to come in the near future.
I thank all of those in the House of Representatives and in the Senate, on behalf of Liberty, who voted against this bill.
