The first day of the fifth month of the year. The day when all the good little Marxists around the world join together in an international show of unity to rage against the machine of free market capitalism.

Thousands expected to hit the streets for May Day protests

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are expected to take to the streets Monday in massive May Day events across the USA. May Day — also known as International Worker’s Day — has spawned protests around the globe in past years highlighting workers’ rights.

So, as the knuckle-draggin’, mouth-breathin’ street-fightin’ malcontents go to the barricades shouting “Workers of the world, unite!”, we can reflect on the “Forgotten Man Equation”…

The Forgotten Man, from Wikipedia

As soon as A observes something which seems to him wrong, from which X is suffering, A talks it over with B, and A and B then propose to get a law passed to remedy the evil and help X. Their law always proposes to determine what C shall do for X, or, in better case, what A, B, and C shall do for X…what I want to do is to look up C. I want to show you what manner of man he is. I call him the Forgotten Man. perhaps the appellation is not strictly correct. he is the man who never is thought of…. I call him the forgotten man… He works, he votes, generally he prays—but he always pays…

Fortunately, the May Day protests will be quickly forgotten in the haze of margaritas and Mexican food on the fifth day of the fifth month of the year. What better antidote for the sanctimonious and tawdry affectations of the world’s Marxists, than the gluttonous bacchanalia of Cinco de Mayo!
