Well, here we are, a few days before Christmas. And yes, while sadly, the war on Christmas continues unabated, I suddenly realized that Kwanzaa has all but disappeared.
I haven’t seen one mention of it; on TV, in stores…anywhere.
Seems that this made-up festival is on its last legs.
For those of you who may not recall its origins; Kwanzaa was “created” by one Maulana (Ron) Karenga back in 1965 as the first real African-American holiday.
And back then it was a really big deal. It was embraced by the left, the PC crowd, the race hustlers….what is today the SJW mob, and most of the students at America’s colleges.
Kwanzaa got equal billing with Christmas and Hanukkah. All the TV stations wished their viewers a “Merry Christmas, a Happy Hannukah, and ( I can’t remember which it was?)…either a Merry or a Happy Kwanza.
Newspaper ads were full of Kwanzaa…Kwanzaa greeting cards filled the racks next to Christmas cards.
Kwanzaa was…..real. It was settled science. All the right people were all in, all aboard. And anyone who might have the temerity to look down on this instant event was sneered at, even scorned.
When your world, and your worldview, is entirely secular, then, to feed the masses and keep them happy, you have to create a belief system that hopefully will entertain and distract them from the truth.
Fifty years ago, that was Kwanzaa. Ten years ago, the religion of global warming really took off among a certain segment of the population. And let’s not forget Scientology, which started a few years before Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa’s all but forgotten, Scientology’s rapidly losing favor..when the Hollywood crowd moves on, then you know that you’re really so over…and global warming may soon follow, as the monumental fraud is exposed.
But, for now, will the last person wearing a “kente” robe please blow out the Kwanzaa candles..
