In order to guarantee that Hillary Clinton loses the 2016 election, is it imperative that Chris Christie remain a reasonably viable candidate for the GOP nomination.
Why, you ask?
Easy. Christie can be one of the most effective weapons Republicans can deploy against Hillary.
Both Christie and Hillary have a lot in common. Both have been accused of doing bad stuff. Christie, of organizing an effort to tie-up traffic on the George Washington Bridge ( aka “bridgegate”) in order to supposedly “punish” the mayor of Fort Lee, (a pissant of a town that exist only because the GWB has to end somewhere in NJ); for not supporting him, or some initiative, or some such rot. Clinton has been accused of well…a whole lot of bad stuff.
Both have denied any responsibility, any culpability whatsoever. Both have said many times that there is no proof, no smoking gun. The MSM has shown far more interest in delving into traffic patterns on the GWB than they have in how 4 brave Americans died at Benghazi, or the hundreds of millions the Clintons have raised as their own personal slush fund.
Christie’s campaign is struggling. He barely registers in the polls, and hasn’t as yet been able to raise any serious money. But there’s any easy solution.
[mc_name name=’Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’P000603′ ] ( bless his heart) showed the way when, instead of responding to a “gotcha question” about possible exceptions to allow abortions, threw it right back in the face of the reporter, indeed, the whole MSM, when he demanded that they go ask Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the head of the DNC, why it’s OK to murder a 7 month fetus.
In case you haven’t noticed, Dems/libs/MSM have’t raised the issue once since that time.
So Christie needs to start demanding that the MSM investigate all Hillary’s burgeoning scandals; pointing out the vast discrepancy in the time they devoted to his problem, vs her many ones.
And oh yeah, while he’s at it, point out that IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE BRIDGEGATE STORY BROKE, HE HELD A TWO HOUR PRESS CONFERENCE AND ANSWERED EACH AND VERY QUESTION FROM REPORTERS.
AND THEN ASK REPORTERS WHY HASN’T HILLARY DONE THE SAME, MORE IMPORTANTLY ASK THE REPORTERS WHY THEY HAVEN’T DEMANDED THAT SHE DO SO. Challenge them, or as a Joisey guy, “double-dare” them to go after Clinton.
Governor, do this, and do it often, and you’ll have lots of Republicans smiling, and thinking very nice thoughts about you.
Just look at Fiorina. She’s focused on Hillary, while ignoring all her fellow Republican opponents. And she’s doing well. Let’s be real here, neither Fiorina or Christie will win the nomination. Maybe they’re auditioning for the VP slot, or a key cabinet post in the next administration. She needs a job, he’ll soon be out of one. But whatever the reason, Fiorina’s been very effective in her attacks on Clinton, and Christie can do ever more damage.
Both should be included in the first GOP debates..the ones held this year, and both should do nothing but continue their attacks on Clinton.
To use a football analogy, Christie isn’t going to score the game winning touchdown, but he can open a huge hole in the Democrat line, and enable the GOP to win the election.
