Do the upheavals at Rolling Stone and The New Republic presage the future of the Democrat party?

Hmmm?? Life imitates artifice….

It’s been an interesting last few months for the denizens of the left, to say the least. The Democrat party suffered its second consecutive mid term shellacking, yet Obama blithely ignores it, and proceeds to unilaterally amnesty  millions of illegals.

At the same time, two longtime cheerleaders for the establishment left, “Rolling Stone” and “The New Republic” self-destruct.

Can one deduce therefore that these events are in fact interrelated?

There are several methodologies we can use to analyze the question.

1. Occam’s razor tells us that among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected. Ergo:

Democrats suck. Liberalism sucks. “The New Republic” sucks. “Rolling Stone” sucks. QED!!!

2. “When you hear  hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras!” Sage advice for medical students who often see exotic diseases in common symptoms.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz obviously dreams of zebras. After all, according to Debbie Downer, “voters agree with Democrats…just not when they  vote.”

Hello!!! That’s why they are called “voters,” and not “concurrers,” or “sagacious head nodders.” ( Note: I tried it, but “agreers” just doesn’t look right.”)

3. The Satchel Paige somewhat cynical view of life:

“The light at the end of the tunnel may in fact be a train heading right at you in the opposite direction.”

Chuckie Schumer wakes up, smells the roses, and decides that Democrats were really going in the wrong direction after all.

Note: Hat-tip for a great put-down goes to hard left wild-man video blogger Cenk Uygur, who responded to Schumer thusly: “Shut the Chuck up!”

The New Republic a few weeks ago had this gala dinner celebrating its 100th anniversary. Now, most of the editorial staff, and just about all the masthead have quit in a funk. The  upcoming issue has been cancelled, and next year, it’s reducing the number of issues from 22 to 10.

Ouch!!

Anyone remember LIFE”

Or TIME,  or NEWSWEEK?

Two years ago, Obama won re-election….now, he can’t even get Martha Coakley elected in Massachusetts.

And as for the vaunted “war on women,” well Obama single-handedly destroyed [mc_name name=’Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’L000550′ ].

Speaking of that “war”, Rolling Stone totally bought into the left fantasy of the evil south, good old young white fraternity boys/bubbas on the plantation..er, UVa, brutally abusing wimmenfolk…yada yada yada.

Big, BIG Oopsie! Turned out  it all wasn’t true, didn’t happen, and now they are backing away from the story, and the author, so fast it’s as if they were attempting to rappel down the Washington Monument.

And speaking of stories that turned out to be not true, why, ’twas a mere 6 years ago that we were told that Obama’s election would mean the end of racial discord in the nation, that “the oceans would stop rising, and our planet would begin to heal.”

Ya think????
