Chris Christie finally got a break – if Senator Bob Menendez has to step down Christie will have the chance to replace him, and that pick will put him back in the headlines. Expect Christie to choose a replacement who will please conservatives. If Christie beats Jeb and Rubio in Iowa and New Hampshire, he could consolidate a lot of money that could carry him through the rest of the campaign. If the “non-establishment conservative bracket” is won by somebody other than Walker, that would be Christie’s best shot to get the nomination. I’d considered him DOA before today; this could make things interesting.
