Armed Forces Tea Party Statement
Mar 12, 2012
We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.
In response to Secretary of Defense Panetta’s declaration before the Senate Armed Services Committee that he and President Obama look not to the Congress for authorization to bomb Syria but to NATO and the United Nations, as it was with the situation in Libyra, Armed Forces Tea Party is full support of House Concurrent Resolution 107:
Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.
Any order to the military from the President to use offensive force without the prior authorization from Congress is an unlawful order under Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the United States Constitution.
We can not let our elected officials trample on the very document to which defends the right of each American citizen and is the foundation of this country. With our nation 15.4Trillion dollars in debt, it is irresponsible of the President and the Sec. of Defense to dig our nation deeper into debt with an unconstitutional military offensive in Syria or any other country.
We respectfully request that President Obama and Secretary of Defense Panetta apologize to the American people, for these comments that are a direct attack on the Constitution of the United States. Further more we ask the members of the Congress to approve and move forward with H.C.R 107.
