If you Stand for Nothing, You will Fall for Anything

Our forefathers declared our Citizens’ inherent right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  By popular vote, we extended that right from White, Male, Property owners to anyone 18 and older in age.  Our concept of liberty, over the centuries, has evolved.

Liberty is at the core of the raison d’etre of our Nation.  We are not France.  We are not a country where “Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood” are equivalent in value.  What we are is a Nation founded on the principle of freedom.

There is not a scintilla of freedom in Tyranny.  Just as Caesar ended the Republic of Rome, our petulant President is sliding us into Tyranny.  We have unelected bureaucrats who pass regulations with the support of our Congress.  What passes for freedom is an incessant march toward Tyranny.  Black Lives Matter is a racist organization.  Simply replace the word Black with White and see the result.  Massive condemnation from a complacent Media.

Some Muslims wish to kill me.  They want to impose Tyranny upon my way of life.  I am not allowed to target them in reverse because that would be “racial profiling”.  In other words, I am allowed to be targeted while I am not allowed to target.  The law-abiding will be victims while the criminals will be victors.

If I were to fly to Pyongyang, Tehran, Mogadishu, Caracas, and a few other cities, I might be subject to immediate imprisonment and/or execution.  If I were to carry a Bible with me to Riyadh, then most certainly I would be beheaded.  There are many places on Earth where I cannot go.

If I refuse to bake a cake and am Christian, I will be prosecuted.  If I refuse to bake a cake and am Muslim, no one will say a word.  No one will question me and no one will punish me, because they will fear me.

If I mount a cross in my courtroom, someone may sue me to have it removed.  If I wear a burqa, no one will say a word to me, unless I am murdered.  Then they will prosecute my killer, if they happen to still be in the United States.  If they have returned to Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan or Iran, they will be immune from prosecution.

If I carry a gun to defend myself into New Jersey, they will arrest me and throw me in prison.  If I walk into a movie theater in Connecticut and shoot 200 people dead, they will put me in prison where I am entitled to healthcare and a sex-change operation at my own election, at taxpayers’ expense.  There is nothing I can do in Connecticut which will not result in taxpayers paying for me appeal and my benefits in prison.

My Congress is selling out my descendants at a rate unprecedented in history.  And they have no shame about it.  They simply keep lying to me and telling me that the next Congress will fix it.  The Democrats, when in power, effectively harmed the country without hesitation.  If they come to power again, they will not hesitate to destroy anyone who is “privileged”, which means people who are not them.

The wealthy have paid the Clintons over $3.1 billion dollars.  They have paid their way to safety.  For me, I have no such luxury.  The next disaster which hits will affect my family more than theirs.  They have rules in their favor which insulate them from consequence.  I have no issue with wealth; I simply have issue with differential application of the law.

An election is coming up.  By my reckoning, Bush, Graham, Gilmore, Kasich, and Pataki would sell me out.  That leaves Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Cruz, Rubio, Santorum, Huckabee, Paul and Christie.  Of those, I fear that Carson, Santorum, and Huckabee are not strong general election candidates.  I fear that Paul just does not understand how important the military is for our safety and survival at this time.

Trump, Fiorina, Cruz, Rubio, and Christie seem to each have strengths and weaknesses that would match some or all of the challenges we are facing.  Among them, there are reasons why some will support them wholeheartedly or not at all.  Whomever you support, what we cannot survive is four more years of selling ourselves out.  We need to coalesce around one or more of these candidates and get them to the finish line.  I respect dissent and I most certainly will pull the lever for our nominee, but I hope to God they are someone who will set boundaries on how far we slide into the abyss.
