Short note on the Boston marathon explosions

It is never the right time to mix politics with tragedy, but what I am about to post does not constitute that.

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

The point I want to make, at a time where our Constitutional right to defend ourselves is on a slippery slope, is this: the bombing illustrates that people will kill people using whatever means possible. It is indicative of the mental and moral health of our society, not our great technological advancements.

A bomb could just as easily have killed hundreds or thousands of people. Yet we cannot legislate away the elements of the earth used to make bombs.

Promoting our natural rights and the safety of humanity should not be political and I am not making it such, therefore anybody displeased with my post is sorely confused.
