Regardless of what anybody might say, our President included, America is truly an exceptional nation. The materialistic worldview of the left needs to be answered with the God-centered worldview of our founders, not with another materialistic view. Quite literally, if we don’t have God on our side, the battle is pointless. We’ve already lost. I know this is not what some people want to hear; this is not politically correct. It’s just true, and truth often has a difficult time seeing the light of day in the current political climate.
Some people really think that we can just talk simply about free enterprise and limited government and lower taxes, and win. We might win a battle. We might win an argument, or a debate, or an election. But we will not win the war for America‘s soul . . . and that’s the real conflict being waged today in the press, in Hollywood, in the schools, in the universities, even, believe it or not, in America‘s churches. People are breaking laws to be free. People are literally dying to be free. But they, as sometimes we, are not totally focused on where that freedom originates. It is too easy to be distracted and to lose our way. This is why elections have consequences.
So, don’t fall for the temptation to rally around economic issues, or specific individuals, or groups of people. Rally instead around the vision that touched off the greatest freedom experiment in world history – that being the vision of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Rally instead around the idea that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. Rally instead around the idea that we don’t have, nor do we ever desire, any earthly king or governing body reigning over us. Rally instead around any and all things, and people, who will lead us back to the truth. We don’t need anything that we don’t already have. More is NOT better. The answers to all that ails us are found in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, for they are the foundations of that “shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere.”
That vision proved effective then. That vision proved to be inspired then. That vision is just as alive, vibrant, relevant, and applicable now. That vision, along with a lot of prayer and providence, can help us take America back. Nothing else can. God Bless America on this most important 4th of July, just four months away from the re-emergence of the true American psyche. Everything old is new again! Freedom is always fashionable. And those who would stand in its way . . . shall be swept away.
