Reminder - It's Earth Hour, So Turn On Everything - Plus some news of the world.

I knew that for the past few days, I was remiss in posting something here at RedState, but couldn’t remember what the something was.

At 4:15am, I awoke, smiling quite the nicely with returned memory……..

Hundreds of millions to switch off lights Saturday for Earth Hour.

SYDNEY, March 27 (AP) – (Kyodo)—Iconic landmarks such as the Tokyo Tower, China’s Forbidden City, New York’s  Empire State Building and the Eiffel Tower in Paris are to be thrown into darkness Saturday as more than 4,000 towns and cities around the globe switch off their lights to highlight a commitment to tackling climate change.

A record-breaking 125 countries plan to participate in this year’s Earth Hour, which sees citizens, companies and governments switch off their lights for one hour at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday March 27.

Remember….. The hilarity starts at 8:30pm local-to-you time, lasting one hour.

As with last year, I shall endeavor to have every single electrical appliance and device switched on here at home, whilst making a dinner of RED MEAT and cleaning at least one of my firearms out on the back deck in full view of the evening walking folks.

This year has an added bonus, as I have one of my PA systems in the house (cleaning cabinets, re-setting/wrapping cables, etc.).  I have this sneaking suspicion that right about the appointed time, I’ll deign to ensure all is right with said PA system – that it still functions properly and shall be tested using Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “God ‘N Guns” CD.

The UK just banned ’em, so now Australia will too.

This week, laws banning the use, production and stockpiling of cluster munitions came into force in the UK.

(Australia’s) Foreign Minister Stephen Smith on Saturday said the move was another positive step towards globally banning the “devastating” weapons.

So what if one single piece of munitions can end a pitched battle……. It’s not politically correct to use it, so away it goes.

Don’t know what it is ?

Its For… The…… Chil……….. Aaaaaaaaargh.

Military-ruled Burma to conduct elections.

The junta has not announced a date for the polls but earlier this month it released election laws that were criticised for barring political prisoners, including opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, from standing.

The NLD has yet to decide if it will take part in the vote. Critics say the polls are a sham designed to legitimise the ruling generals’ grip on power, and that an NLD boycott would further damage their credibility.  Suu Kyi, a 64-year-old Nobel peace laureate, has been in detention for 14 of the last 20 years.

This is an extremely dangerous time for that nation and must be watched, with freedom supported.

But even so……..

Burma !

Why’d you say that ?

I panicked.

And to close the entries…….. Some absolutely must-see video From Brazil:
