Israeli Science Breakthrough Extracts Fuel from Water
Among the most important challenges facing science today is designing an efficient system for splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen. The ability to do so will introduce hydrogen into the market as a clean, sustainable fuel. But man-made systems for getting to the root of water that exist today are very inefficient and often require additional use of sacrificial chemical agents.
Now, a unique approach developed by Prof. David Milstein and colleagues of the Weizmann Institute’s Organic Chemistry Department, provides important steps in overcoming this challenge. Their research demonstrated a new mode of bond generation between oxygen atoms and even defined the mechanism by which it takes place. It is the generation of oxygen gas by the formation of a bond between two oxygen atoms originating from water molecules that proves to be the bottleneck in the water splitting process.
I left a comment at the news article page that Israel needs to get some real heavy-duty security around Professor Milstein and his associates 24/7, along with big-time armor around the lab.
Israel also needs to hold this technology as her own….. design, build, program, operate and maintenance by “in-house” personnel………… and the soon to be perfected equipment should be sold to other nations only with a “mission impossible” security system that if the casings and gear are opened by anyone other than the company in Israel that is gonna make the gear, etc., the system self-destructs instantly.
That’ll stop the reverse-engineering and anything else. The software involved will have to have the best and latest anti-gotcha and anti-piracy known to man.
There are going to be globalist-statist corporations and governments out for these folks heads to either steal the tech, or bury it forever.
This has the potential to be a real game-changer for energy and looks like it needs to become a Manhattan Project yesterday.
