Voters threw out the Democrats big time last night. After voting in 2008 for Barack Obama to prove they were not racists, in 2009, voters chose the Republicans to prove they are not socialists.In Virginia, for the second time in history, the Republican Party swept all statewide offices. In New Jersey, despite multiple campaign trips by Barack Obama and his top pollster flown in to run Corzine’s campaign, Republican Chris Christie trounced Corzine. In Pennsylvania, the Democratic State entrusted its Supreme Court to the Republican Party, which could help the GOP in redistricting next year.In every state in which Barack Obama campaigned for a candidate, the candidate lost. Too bad he did not make it up to NY-23.More importantly, according to political expert Larry Sabato, there have only been two occasions when Virginia and New Jersey so thoroughly flipped to the opposite party: in 1993, before the GOP take over of Congress in 1994, and in 2005, before the Democrats took back Congress in 2006.Please click here for the rest of the post.

The race has now been called for Democrat Bill Owens.This is a huge win for conservatives.“Whaaaa. . . ?” you say.There are two big victories at work in New York’s 23rd Congressional District.First, the GOP now must recognize it will either lose without conservatives or will win with conservatives. In 2008, many conservatives sat home instead of voting for John McCain. Now, in NY-23, conservatives rallied and destroyed the Republican candidate the establishment chose.I have said all along that the goal of activists must be to defeat Scozzafava. Doug Hoffman winning would just be gravy. A Hoffman win is not in the cards, but we did exactly what we set out to do — crush the establishment backed GOP candidate.And make no mistake, despite the Beltway spin, we know for certain based on statements from the local Republican parties, that they chose Scozzafava based on advice from the Washington crowd.So we have demonstrated to the GOP that it must not take conservatives for granted. The GOP spent $900,000.00 on a Republican who dropped out and endorsed the Democrat. Were we to combine Scozzafava and Hoffman’s votes, Hoffman would have won.Secondly, and just as importantly, there has all of a sudden been a huge movement among some activists to go the third party route. We see in NY-23 that this is not possible as third parties are not viable.Third parties lack funding and ability for a host of reasons. Conservatives are going to have to work from within the GOP. The GOP had better pay attention.For all intents and purposes, NY-23 is a trial run for Florida. And in Florida, the conservative candidate is operating inside the GOP. On Friday, every Republican Senator sent U.S. Senate Majority Leader Reid a letter which said, where is the bill text?Here is an excerpt from the letter:“The American people and every member of Congress should be allowed to read the bill that was sent to CBO. The bill should be made available for taxpayers to read and learn how the federal government is spending their money. Tom Harkin, as the Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, stands to offer a tremendous amount of help to Big Labor. By pledging to pass a misleadingly-named and detrimental bill called the Employee Free Choice Act, Sen. Harkin is revealing his true loyalties – and his inconsistent rhetoric.With union pension plans grossly underfunded, EFCA presents a number of threats to workers and businesses, and a number of benefits for union bosses. In their quest for more political spending power, union bosses have been feverishly pushing for the swift passage of EFCA and the question arises as to what Sen. 5. Why is the House Voting First? Price Tag Hits $1.2 Trillion witout Doc Fix — $1.45 With Doc Fix
The news keeps getting tougher for the House Leadership in their irrational quest to pass their ObamaCare bill.First, the Associated Press is reporting the bill will cost $1.2 Trillion without the doctor fix of $250 billion.The new total will be $1.45 trillion — because the House Leadership intends to create a “self-executing rule” that would pull the doctor fix apart from the House ObamaCare bill — in order to keep the cost at $1.2 Trillion, then fuse the doc fix back into the ObamaCare bill after it passes the House.It is like a magic trick, presto — $250 billion in new spending just appears in the bill after it passes.Meanwhile, the new $1.45 billion ought to send the Blue Dogs scampering from the bill.Then, of course, the House is finally grappling with two thermonuclear issues: abortion and immigration.Please click here for the rest of the post.
