We can't defeat every GOP squish in Congress...but we can get rid of one

In 2014, Matt Lynch came closer than any GOP primary challenger not named Dave Brat to unseating an incumbent congressman when he ran against Dave Joyce…establishment sycophant and wholly-owned subsidiary of Gucci Gulch.

Lost in the 24/7 media coverage of the billionaire narcissist and Democrat donor who inserted himself into the GOP Presidential primary has been any examination of conservatives running to replace the feckless friends of John Boehner and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce who earned every ounce of the much-deserved wrath of Republicans who believe in limited, constitutional government, the separation of powers, the rule of law and the sanctity of life.

Matt earned 45% of the vote in OH-14 in 2014 despite nearly $600,000 in spending on ads and mailings by outside groups, including $350,000 from the Chamber of Commerce, $115,000 from the American Hospital Association, and $139,000 in mailings from a Super-PAC run by Steve LaTourette’s Main Street Partnership featuring John Kasich in retaliation for Matt’s lawsuit, filed with five colleagues in the Ohio House that sought to block Kasich’s Obamacare expansion.

After returning to Washington with the support of his corporate benefactors, “Just Dave” has certainly earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in the GOP’s long-running “Failure Theater.”

Failure Theater is the process by which the Establishment deliberately fails to do achieve anything, but wants credit from the Dumb Conservatives they’re playing to for allegedly “trying.”

Each of Boehner’s and McConnell’s “defeats” are in fact planned in advance. They are not trying to advance the conservative agenda; they are attempting to con conservatives into believing they have attempted to implement conservative policy, when in fact they were delivering their political deliverables to their Donor Class paymasters all along.

Dave Joyce claims to be “pro-life.” Yet, he was in the minority of GOP representatives who voted for HR 719, the continuing resolution that provided funding for Planned Parenthood in the aftermath of the videos from the Center for Medical Progress documenting the sale of fetal body parts.

Dave Joyce accuses Matt Lynch of overspending as a legislator in the Ohio House, yet Dave voted for HR 1314, John Boehner’s deal with the President that increased Federal spending by $112 billion over previously agreed to budget caps.

Dave Joyce claims in his TV commercials to be opposed to Obamacare and Obama’s illegal amnesty. He provided the Chamber of Commerce with their return on investment by supporting the omnibus bill that funded both amnesty and Obamacare. That vote wasn’t a shocker because Dave had previously supported funding Obamacare. Joyce doubled down on his support of Obama’s amnesty by voting against HR 240, the bill that would have removed funding for amnesty implementation from the Homeland Security appropriation.

Joyce has a 45% rating from Heritage Action. The average for GOP representatives is 63%

Joyce received a 46% rating from the Club for Growth in 2014, ranking him 186th among GOP representatives in 2014. In fairness, Dave had ranked 215th in 2013.

Joyce’s 48% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union places him dead last among Ohio’s GOP House delegation.

Joyce’s 50% lifetime rating from Freedom Works (48% in 2015) puts him near the bottom of GOP representatives.

Joyce’s voting record as rated by the Madison Project index ( a measure of how many points the member is over-performing or under-performing based on the ideological bent of his/her district) is dead last in Ohio, earning him a well-deserved place in Madison’s Hall of Shame.

Joyce Hall of Shame

Matt Lynch has been a champion of conservative values during his time in the Ohio House as well as his time in local government. He demonstrated the political courage to fight John Kasich’s Obamacare expansion here in Ohio and much like Ted Cruz, Matt incurred the wrath of the party establishment. He was committed to vote against John Boehner for Speaker prior to Boehner’s resignation last fall. He’s a passionate supporter of the pro-life movement, religious liberty, Second Amendment rights, a balanced Federal budget, tax reform and immigration enforcement.  He’s challenging Dave Joyce again in order to afford conservatives in Northeast Ohio a true representative in Congress.

Despite the incumbent congressman having parlayed his seat on the Ways and Means Committee into $1,300,000 in campaign funds (over $1,000,000 already spent on the primary), Matt held an eight point lead in a poll reported last month in Conservative Review.

Our incumbent congressman is counting on another barrage of robocalls and commercials funded by the Chamber and left-leaning PACs and targeting low information GOP calling him a “solid conservative” to again rescue him from the wrath of GOP voters who have been stabbed in the back time and time again by elected officials who pretend to be something they’re not at election time.

“Just Dave” was joined at the hip in November of 2014 by his dear friends John Boehner and John Kasich on the weekend before the election. If you’re thrilled with the job the GOP-controlled Congress did under Boehner’s leadership, by all means re-elect his bootlicker from Northeast Ohio. If you’d prefer an authentic anti-establishment conservative in Congress who would add to the membership of the Freedom Caucus, Matt would very much appreciate your support.

We can’t do anything about all the “conservatives” in Washington who say one thing when they’re running and do another when they get to D.C. But we can do something about one…
