Among the universe of writers I keep up with even though I rarely agree with is NYT columnist Maureen Dowd. Her plaigerism scandal broke following her column of May 17.

Her regular midweek column appeared the following Wednesday, May 20, after which she has seemingly dissappeared into thin air, with no Dowd column published on her last 5 Sunday / Wednesday slots.

Has she resigned or been fired? There isn’t even any gossip or buzz about her in the blogosphere, which is weird considering her and her employer’s prominence.

Does anyone know Dowd’s status?
