Let's reach across party lines!

With the veepstakes in full swing and less than two weeks to go before the conventions, talk of VP announcements for Obama and McCain dominate the airwaves. So much has been made of Republican Chuck Hagel possibly being on Obama’s shortlist, while the only non-Republican mentioned as a possible McCain running mate is Joe Lieberman. So now I challenge you to think of a Democrat that would be a good or excellent running mate for John McCain. I’ll start us off.Blanche Lincoln, current U.S. Senator from Arkansas. Voted for use of force in Iraq, voted for building a fence along U.S.-Mexico border, voted against more penalties for gun violations. Her more moderate stance on immigration (voted for comprehensive immigration reform) may help McCain win over Hispanic votes, while women and Hillary supporters may be attracted to McCain selecting a female running mate.
