Stupid Liberal Quote of the Day: June 6th, 2013 Edition

With Congress on their Memorial Day vacation and the general lull in silly comments from that body, I took a brief hiatus to concentrate on other matters of a political nature. But, with Congress back and Obama back on the never-ending campaign trail, the comments are sure to pick up. Of course, there is always MSNBC and other liberal outlets to check in on occasionally, but one gets bored after a while. However, these comments from MSNBC’s Martin Bashir commenting on the IRS scandal and congressional hearings into it are too much to pass up. His comments, besides skirting the edges of slander aainst Darrel Issa, are pure liberal stupidity at their lowest low. So, without further ado:

“The IRS is being used exactly the same way they tried to use the president’s birth certificate. You see, for Republicans like Darrel Issa, who knows something about arson, the IRS now stands for something inflammatory. These three letters are now on fire with political corruption and malfeasance, burning hot. Just like that suspicious fire that engulfed Mr. Issa’s warehouse in 1982.”

First, the president’s birth certificate is a non-issue and to most sane conservatives, never was. But, like this growing scandal, as I have stated in the past, there will be no smoking gun e-mail or memo from the White House telling the IRS to target conservative groups. There will be no paper trail… sort of like Obama’s academic records. There is no doubt, as many polls now indicate, that this is a scandal- corruption if you will- and definitely malfeasance. The simple fact that the initial story that this was an isolated case confined to a local IRS in Cincinnati, Ohio has fallen apart much like the story that a demonstration over an allegedly anti-Muslim video led to the death of an American ambassador and three others in Libya. You see, Mr. Bashir, when the government lies and they are caught red-handed in those lies, the American people recognize it as such- a lie- and this simply undermines the people’s perception of and faith in their government- the ultimate corruption.

But, Bashir just cannot help himself with a sleazy, somewhat slanderous suggestion that Issa burnt his own warehouse some 31 years ago for whatever reason. One would think that after 31 years the arson investigators would have completed their investigation, but Bashir is not convinced. In reality, he is simply rehashing an old story from NPR from two years ago. Imagine that- a liberal consulting a liberal for facts. It is obvious that Bashir- certainly a booster of all things Obama- is simply following the White House line (see David Plouffe’s comments about Issa and grand theft auto) to go on the attack against Issa up to and including impugning his reputation slander be damned. It is a classic defense mechanism called projection.

Bashir is not finished:

“And despite the complete lack of evidence linking the president to the targeting of tea party groups, Republicans are using it as the latest weapn in the war against the black man in the White House.”

Of course, there is no “evidence” per se since it is an attitude fostered by the Obama administration which seeped down the line to the IRS. Again, Bashir, like the latest sad attempt of the Obama people to extricate themselves from this- blaming the victims- simply does not get it. If the IRS was using key words like “Progress(ive)” or other such flags, we would not be talking so much about it these days. There would be indignation on both sides and Bashir would likely be silent. But the most egregious and silly aspect of this statement is the insinuation that the quest for truth may not be as poltically motivated as it is racially motivated. Is Bashir insinuating that if this were anyone but a black man in the White House, there would be no scandal? To refresh Bashir’s memory, I definitely remember outrage against a certain white president in the 1970s for using the bureaucratic apparatus of the federal government to target political opponents. Maybe Bashir was studying royal family watching techniques at that time or something. To bolster his assessment of the situation, the then trots out some old quote by GOP political strategist Lee Atwater. At this point, the equation is solved: the conservative outrage against the IRS is racially motivated and the term “IRS” is now on the growing list of code words that mean the “N” word.

If anyone is left with any doubt, he summarizes his great “discovery:”

“So this afternoon, we welcome the latest phrase in the lexicon of Republican attacks on this president. The IRS- three letters that sound so innocent, but we know what you mean.”

I am sure at this point that he signed off his show dramatically. Martin Basir needs reminding that Barack Obama is not the first black president, but the first half-black president (his mother was white, correct?). He may be the first “Affirmative Action” president, but that may be too racist also. These nit-wit comments prove two very important facts. The first is that because you have a British accent, it does not make the circuitry of your brain work any better. I would throw Piers Morgan up as another example of this fact. The second is that the folks at NBC can wring their hands all they want about it and the manstream media can ponder the poor ratings of MSNBC, but all they have to do is look at the lack of quality of their “news people.” The only positive thing one can say about Martin Bashir and his inflammatory comments is that so few people actually heard them in real time since so few people watch his show in the first place.

So, there you have it: the IRS is the latest code word for a racial slur directed at blacks. MSNBC will be mired at the bottom of the barrel as long as they hire the likes of people like Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton, something called Toure, and Martin Bashir.
