"Game of Thrones" to begin filming this fall

This isn’t political in nature, but is still damned cool none the less.

The Song of Ice & Fire series by George R.R. Martin is being developed as a television series by HBO. The plan is for each book of the series to take a season’s worth of episodes, in the style of “Rome” and “Deadwood”.

The pilot episode was just scheduled to begin filming this fall in <a href=”http://www.northernireland.gov.uk/news/news-ofmdfm/news-ofmdfm-210409-hbo-to-film.htm”>Northern Ireland</a>.

Casting hasn’t started yet, but there are rumors that Adrian Paul (from the Highlander series) will be cast as Ned Stark, and Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister.
