Marco's latest "repetition" is NOT a fair example as some are suggesting.

MSNBC and even some on our side are suggesting Rubio “did it again” on the trail but he did not.

He was talking about his OWN set of points, not answering a unique question on more than one occasion with the same canned point.

All politicians use canned lines, and while he may have repeated himself, making the point that the values of others not sharing his views being “crammed down their throats” is NOT a far comparison to what happened against Christie.

It’s his point and it’s being used appropriately, if repetitively.

So would be Cruz using “Washington Cartel” over and over in a long point about their good old boy network, etc.

What hurt against Christie is he answered over Obama knowing “exactly what he is doing” on unrelated questions, more than once. You cannot answer over snow plows and repeat such a line without being called a rehearsed robot:

Rubio then went on to repeat the same line over and over again, doing exactly what Christie criticized him for:

  • 8:30 pm: “And let’s dispel once and for all with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing.”

  • 8:32 pm: “Let’s dispel with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing.”

  • 8:34 pm: “This notion that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing is just not true. He knows exactly what he’s doing.”

  • 9:21 pm: “I think anyone who believes that Barack Obama isn’t doing what he’s doing on purpose doesn’t understand what we’re dealing with here. Okay?”

That’s not what happened last night.  He was making a full point of his own in related fashion, not suffering from broken tape syndrome. He did not answer unconnected questions more than once using the same line “cram  down our throats” as filler.

If anyone wishes to criticize Rubio, it should be over a fair claim, and this one is not…
