Now this is something I never expected when I heard that former UK Prime Minister Baroness Margaret Thatcher had passed at the age of 87.
Of course, most conservatives would expect the reaction to be something like these tweets collected by Twitchy:
However, in doing a quick run around the usual leftist suspect sites (I read them so you don’t have to), I was somewhat pleasantly surprised to see some of the commenters there praising Baroness Thatcher.
For example, on DemocraticUnderground, we have this exchange (had to screen cap it in two parts because of length):
Note that the people that are giving her at least a little bit of praise are long-time commenters there, and the one that is trying to be exceedingly negative about her is a relative newcomer.
Over on HuffPo, we also find several notes of praise amongst the speaking ill of the dead, and the praise is coming from some unexpected members:
I wish I could bring you reaction from DailyKOS, but as of this time, there’s nary a word about her passing there:
I’ll leave it up to the reader to decide why DailyKOS isn’t bothering to cover one of the biggest stories of the day.
If you find other leftists on well-known leftist sites praising Baroness Thatcher, please, drop a line in the comments.
