Journalism for Bloggers 101

Really didn’t want my first RedState post to be a bleg, but I’ve got an opportunity that I think people might want to take advantage of.

My friend and mentor, Patrick Richardson (of PJMedia and Daily Caller) has an idea to do an online course on journalism for bloggers. Personally, I think it’s a heck of a good idea (I’ll definitely be in the first class, and knowing Pat, he’ll probably draft me to help teach subsequent classes). He needs some info, though, from people who might be interested in taking such a course.

  • What things would you like to learn?
  • How much would you be willing to pay for such a course?
  • How long would you like each session to be, and how many sessions?
  • Any other suggestions?

If there’s enough interest, he may do sub-courses, like one on investigating a story, and another course on writing it up.

Oh, we’re also seriously considering a Tatler or HotAir-style group blog for students to blog on (the general public could read and comment, of course). As Pat says, the best way to learn it is to do it, and a group blog would be a good place to get your feet wet.
