Whenever the President needs to buy time and some cover, they call for a “bipartisan commission”. Coming right up! Seriously, does anyone not roll their eyes or throw up a little in their mouth when they hear the word “bipartisan” from our elected elites in DC? Obama is looking to rope in Republicans to share the blame in a “bipartisan” way after his own partisan ways failed miserably in his first year.
Obama to Create Panel to Study Deficit
Published: January 19, 2010
WASHINGTON — President Obama plans to create a bipartisan commission to make recommendations to Congress on ways to reduce the federal budget deficit under an agreement reached Tuesday night at the White House.
Where was the change, Mr President? Do you mean you really want help from the other side now? And that you lied when you mentioned bipartisanship this whole last year? The only thing Obama wants is to spread the blame. I hope congressional Republicans don’t fall for this stupid ploy. The war is still raging, the enemy has not given up, but rather coiling up for another strike.
In the short run, such a commission would buy time for the White House and Congress, putting off decisions until after this year’s midterm elections while the commission deliberates.
Ha, you mean buy time and give Dems a flimsy excuse to kick the empty piggy bank down the road for some cover at the midterms. “We’re really working on it and studying what went wrong!!!” Why the heck do we need another commission? We don’t have enough panels, committees, czars, lobbyists, elected elite already to figure things out? Didn’t the DEMS really have a plan to better America as they campaigned?
Haven’t we learned these panels are pretty much useless? You know, similar panels on steroids in baseball making America great! We don’t need to kick the can down the road any longer. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. If the admin and members of congress can’t do their job balancing America’s checkbook, then I suggest they step down and let someone else take a crack at it. Someone tell the geniuses in DC that managing deficits includes maximizing revenue(doesn’t mean higher tax rates) and decreasing expenses. The latter they never heard of or acknowledge.
I hope Republican leaders don’t fall for this banana in the tailpipe and be played for a stooge once again. They need to echo my sentiments and remind America about all the reckless spending Democrats have done and plan to do.
