Entitlement v/s Empowerment

With the recent title wave, the Democrats are in search of some justification on what to blame – more likely who to blame – for their resounding defeat. The Democrats need to only look in the mirror to see the real culprit for their overwhelming defeat.

Entitlement

Americans elected Obama twice on the premise of what he would give to people. There are a whole litany of examples one could provide where people would say they voted for Obama because he would do something for them. Here is a small sampling –

Democrats pandered to the American voter in every way possible. Democrats believed, as Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said, in “…the stupidity of the American voter…”. That when they were about to be called on their pandering; they could distract the American public with cries of racism, “What difference does it make…” about the murder of four Americans, and my personal favorite “It’s Bush’s fault!

That is the problem with pandering – if you don’t deliver the goods; then there is no loyalty you can count on. Even for those who lived off of 99 weeks of unemployment, disability checks even though they are able-bodied, government subsidized housing, their growing sense of entitlement will guarantee that you have to provide even more to them to continue receiving their support.

Then when the size of the workforce has decreased by about 10 million people, the country is not safe from Muslim terrorist attacks, the economy is shrinking, the national credit rating has been downgraded twice, riots are occurring in the streets and the government is doing nothing to stop it – Democrats continued to count on “…the stupidity of the American voter…” to re-elect them by focusing on abortion, race, and a false “war on women” to maintain their grasp on power just to name a few things.

Empowerment

The difference in this past election is that the Republicans did not try to out pander a liberal. People who are going to vote for a Democrat because of what they will be provided, freely of course, would never change as long as their desires are promised to be fulfilled…if they just vote Democrat. They may even be allowed to “eat fried chicken.”

Republicans campaigned on trying to turn the economy around, trying to find market-based alternatives to Obamacare, trying to find solutions to real problems as opposed to focusing on race, sexism, and more of the same.

War on Women

West Virginia elected the youngest woman to be a state lawmaker. Liberals attacked her for her age. (Millennial women please note: This is what they really think of you.). Mia Love: A black woman elected to the U.S. Congress. Joni Ernst: A combat veteran elected to the U.S. Senate who still serves in the National Guard.

Race

In addition to Mia Love, [mc_name name=’Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’S001184′ ] elected to the U.S. Senate from South Carolina. For the liberal revisionist history challenged, South Carolina is in the South where liberals like [mc_name name=’Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’L000550′ ] will tell you blacks have a much harder time. (People in Louisiana need to remember this come December 6th and vote for Cassidy.)

One has to hope that there is a monumental shift in the mindset of Americans. People need to realize that dependence on government, as liberals propose as the cure-all, is the most divisive, limiting factor in their own personal lives.
