Those words are tossed around by the Left more than a green salad these days. It’s unfortunate that those words just roll by these days when there are real cases of racism or acts of violence against anyone for their beliefs. But that’s what happens when the Left abuses words and accuse others of exactly what they are in their hearts of coal. And those are the exact words they use to describe Trump voters.

And ICYMI, it’s also the same words used by Hillary Clinton to excuse her loss…and Russia of course.

On to the Deomcrat primaries and some interesting observations.

The third debate is coming up and just 10 of the remaining candidates made the cut:

Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang.

By all standards, that is a very diverse set of candidates: White, Gay, Black, Hispanic, Irish, American Indian and Asian. American Samoan would have made the list had Tulsi Gabbard made the debate stage but she’s still in the race.

It’s been clear for months based upon polling, that it really is a three-person race between Biden, Sanders and Warren. The others can’t make double digits in a poll, except for Harris in Iowa in a RCP average.

Remember back in April when I predicted it would come down to the two SPAM candidates? That stands for Stale, Pale, Aging, Male as in Biden and Sanders. And  Warren has all the same adjectives save one.

So what does this tell us about the Democrat voters? Are they racist? Out of that whole field, only three, old white people are polling in the double digits.

I don’t toss that term around lightly and think it should have meaning for true offenders . In this case, I’m just turning the tables on all the pundits and Democrats in Congress that continue the mischaracterization of Trump voters intentionally as if they’ll intimidate and shame us enough to not vote for Trump in 2020. It’s hogwash and they know it!

Perhaps a lot of introspection is needed. In 2002, “The Emerging Democrat Majority” was published which was a blueprint of sorts that the DNC and Obama firmly embraced. After the drumming Democrats took in 2014, they put all of their focus on minorities, women mostly unmarried, college-educated, urban dwellers and millennials. This was billed as the winning bloc that would keep Democrats in power for decades to come.

They consciously tossed out white working-class voters (i.e. blue-collar workers), white middle-class and middle American voters. Obama said as much when he said that people in small towns in PA are “bitterly clinging to guns and religion”.

Who picked up those so-called deplorables? Trump of course for good reason. He saw that the Democrat party had no use or room for them in their “winning” emerging coalition. He read the electorate and co-opted what used to be the Democrats main constituents and added them to the Republican voter pie. It was a deliberate and genius move that the losers in 2016 still can’t grasp.

So back to the primaries. Why are the three whitest and oldest candidates leading their diverse field that actually represents that infamous new emerging majority?

Is it racism? No, it probably is nothing more than name recognition at this point in the race.

Biden is clearly due to name recognition and he was Obama’s guy. He’s familiar territory and the only one of the three that appears to be a moderate. He also has the biggest percentage of black voters, more than all the black candidates combined!  Supposedly he’s the only candidate that can win back those blue-collar and Midwest voters from clinging onto to Trump. That’s going to be a tall order as he continues to pivot to the Left in order to stay relevant in the Dem Party of today.

Sanders of course has attracted the youth vote with his radical policies and promises of free stuff to make the country fairer and more equal for all. Many of them grew up with trophies-for-all so no one’s feelings got hurt. He has a built-in base from 2016 and they don’t seem to mind his talk of transforming the country since socialism is cool to millennials. That in itself is a scary thought yet Sanders seems to be slipping to Warren.

Warren is a clone of Sanders in policies but delivers her message in a kinder way. She doesn’t yell and flail her arms about and point fingers at people like Bernie the Curmudgeon. She’s a radical wearing sheep’s clothing. She attracts many of Bernie’s supporters and probably more of the college and post-graduate crowd. They probably see her as a deep thinker like themselves.

Biden is trying to rebuild Obama’s coalition which is nearly impossible; just ask Hillary who assumed it was ready-made for her. Bernie is trying to keep his base from 2016 and add to it somehow since younger voters aren’t necessarily the most reliable voters on election day. Warren is co-opting Bernie’s base and is adding coastal voters yet is losing to Biden in her home state!

In my opinion, the Democrat Party is the real racist suspect in the room. They have traded places with the old and tired mantra that the Republican Party is for the rich. Today’s Democrat Party and their voters are elitists in wealth and temperament.

They have cultivated their base of rich, mostly white voters and expect minorities to stick with them, well just because it’s always been done that way, while weeding out working people of all races. The landscape has been reversed and it will be hard for any of the top Democrat contenders to plow a winning campaign against the working man and woman’s president.
