I'm sorry—you can't get much more post-nationalist than this

People are taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol near Falfurrias, Texas

This freaks me out 12 ways to Sunday:

This ‘logic,’ unfortunately, is becoming less and rare.

And that scares me.

I was directing my question to the writer of the tweet, not the person who retweeted it.

But that’s the person who answered me back.

I know him and my guess is he believes that the compassion behind open borders is an all-American attribute.

Here’s the problem with the first tweeter’s logic:

There’s a house about three quarters of a mile away, on the other side of the walking trail. It’s on about 20 acres. Stables. Both a triple built-in garage and a triple detached garage. Barn. Unobstructed view of Pikes Peak.

I know I was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida to a not-wealthy mom and dad.

So who is the occupant of that multi-million dollar house to tell me I can’t live there?

I had no say in what family I was born in.

What do you think the odds are that that first tweeter would find that question far less far-fetched than you and I do?
