Can Huckabee defeat Obama?

A recent poll revealed Mike Huckabee to be the leader of the pack in the upcoming 2012 Republican Presidential Nomination race, and what a formidable leader he is. With his political experience both on and off the campaign trail, his clear convictions, and new found success in both television and with his recently published book, it is no wonder he is favored by so many.

RealClearPolitics.com indicates that in a recent poll conducted by Gallup, between the dates of February 18, 2011 and February 20, 2011, the former Governor of Arkansas was leading by +2 points. Although he has not declared his official decision to enter the presidential race, he is certainly off to a good start if he does.

A highly conservative and devout Christian, Huckabee has a lot he can bring to the table if he is elected president. Guided by his faith, and not his own personal agenda, he certainly knows how to lead. His recent success with his ongoing Fox News television show and the publication of his new book, The Simple Government, has added an entirely different dynamic to his resume. This has actually created a more rounded potential candidate who is now more well known to the public.

Huckabee also brings a great deal of experience into the political arena as a candidate. With his direct experience, coming in second to John McCain on the campaign trail in 2008, he knows what to expect this time around. This may be why he has so long delayed finalizing his decision to officially enter the presidential race. His reticence suggests that he is strategizing and conserving his energy for a time when his efforts will really count. He has also been able to maintain his favorable political following.

Reuters.comrecently reported that Huckabee realizes that a battle against the current president is not going to be an easy one, sighting two primary reasons. The first is that President Obama is the incumbent, and this always provides an added challenge. The second is that Obama’s 2012 political campaign is estimated to have the potential to raise more than $1 billion dollars behind it to support his efforts. Huckabee realizes the staggering figure will create its share of obstacles to be overcome. That is why it is critical that all conservatives step up and do their part to combat the left wing initiative. Despite these odds, Mike Huckabee is still confident that the current president is beatable, according to TheWashingtonPost.com. But Huckabee still goes on to caution his political party that it won’t be as easy as some think, and to not underestimate the task.

Mr. Huckabee’s  faith in God gives him a firm conviction that guides him instead of  political gain and, according to HubPages.com, “Huckabee is a prime example of what the GOP should stand for.” With all that he has to offer, as well as his core values being completely aligned with the conservative values of the Republican party, he easily deserves the party’s support for his future political endeavor.
